Manyanga was born in Kilwa in 1969.

Tinga Tinga was an art form started by an Edward Saidi Tingatinga (1968 -1972)  in Tanzania.  He had a big influence over the African art form in Tanzania, where Tinga Tinga is now widely practised.  Although originally Tinga Tinga art was traditionally painted on hard board, in present day, many artists have moved toward the more widely accepted canvas, which is far easier to transport for the many Tanzanian tourists.
