Lost Wax Bronze, 14" Tall
Almost all Benin art was made to honor their king, or Oba. These were normally used as altar figures, placed on altars to honor ancestors who have reigned since the 15th century.
This bronze is believed to be mid 1900's, though no actual testing has been done.
